SCOTT THOMAS FORTUNE
Scott graduated from the University Of Florida College of Law in December 1981. He has been Board Certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Civil Trial Mediator since 1998 and he is Board Certified in Labor & Employment Law.
Scott has practiced in Jacksonville for most of his career, beginning as an associate with a large business law firm and, later, with an insurance defense firm. Scott has represented approximately one thousand clients since opening his practice in 1985 and has litigated with or against virtually every litigation law firm in Jacksonville, often joining forces with larger firms to work alongside him as co-counsel.
Scott has served on numerous trial, employment law, and insurance law panels and has lectured at local, state and national venues in the fields of Labor and Employment Law and Trial Advocacy. He has contributed to professional publications regarding trial advocacy, insurance coverage issues and employment discrimination matters. For nearly 20 years he taught deposition techniques as a faculty member of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, Florida Deposition Program. He has also participated in Florida Supreme Court Justice Fred Lewis’s Justice Teaching Program.
From 2013 until 2019, Scott served as chair or co-chair of the Labor and Employment Committee of the Jacksonville Bar Association.
